Optimizing production

Optimize your processes to avoid waste and cut costs.

In the IMSolution, you’ll find various modules for production optimization which allow you identify where there is potential for improvement quickly and simply and to structure your processes more effectively.

Optimization using the digital production model

The starting point of each and every optimization step is the digital model of your production. You create it quickly and easily in the foundation module IMDesigner. The model maps your product data, processes and resources so they are easy to follow. At all times key performance indicators to evaluate costs, throughput time, and the degree of value-added are displayed.

Dynamically simulating and synchronizing processes

An important instrument for the optimization of your production is dynamic simulation using the IMValidation module. Simulations allow you try out unlimited scenarios and to compare different strategies and planning variants. As a result you can synchronize your lines in an optimum way.

Optimization using the value stream method

Value stream design is a tried and tested method for identifying wastages. In the IMDesigner module, you set up CURRENT STATE and FUTURE STATE value streams, which you can then observe dynamically in the IMValidation module and analyse and appraise in the IMAnalyzer. The insight gained as a result is then used immediately in the other modules.

Optimizing day-to-day detailed planing

The IMController module allows you to react to production situations as they arise. It optimizes your short-term detailed planning on the basis of real order data and the current production status.

Harnessing practical optimization steps taken on the shop floor

On the shop floor your machine operators solve the problems which arise day-to-day swiftly and pragmatically. In the future, your employees will document problems and solutions easily and quickly with simple touch-screen devices in the IMKnowledgeCapture module. Your planners can tap into this production knowledge to take further targeted optimization steps. And you have established a process of continuous improvement as a result.
