The IMV module: Integrated
Manufacturing Validation

Simulate all aspects of your production ahead of time and compare different planning alternatives.

In the IMValidation module you can simulate, visualize and validate all aspects of your production ahead of time. Through the dynamic simulation of your production, you uncover potential errors before production has even started. These faults can then be corrected at low cost.

Testing production processes and operational strategies virtually

You test your production and logistics systems risk-free before production even starts. Corrections are possible at low cost and you can make informed, economically sound investment decisions.

Transparent benchmarking of planning alternatives

IMD_Screenshot010.jpgComplex production performance indicators – such as throughput time, capacity, steering strategies, dimensioning of buffers and stockpiles – are displayed comprehensibly in graph or chart form. This makes it quick and easy to compare different scenarios.

Simulation model from existing data (from the IMDesigner foundation module)

Even without much prior knowledge you can create complex simulation models. For instance, simulations for different manufacturing models (individual production, batch production, variant production) or logistical models (island manufacture, line manufacture, kanban). The assistant uses all the existing data from the IMDesigner. All you have to do is define the parameters, production schedule and shift models.

Creating simulation scenarios simply and swiftly

Create different scenarios to test different alternatives. Parameters which you can influence are, for instance, production schedules, shift models, learning curves, buffers, product variants, material provision or machines. Every scenario is saved so the results can be compared at a later date to new solutions.IMD_Screenshot012.jpg

Managing production schedules

By linking up products and product variants, an individual production schedule is generated. This is fine-tuned by selecting the scheduling type (e.g. SNLT, FNLT), a date (start or target date) and the volume.

Comparing logistics solutions

Every production phase, such as pre and final assembly, as well as all stockpiles and buffers can be assigned individual steering strategies: KANBAN, order-related or also continuous re-ordering. Material supply settings are flexible, which allows you to compare different logistics solutions.

Evaluating the results of the simulation

After a simulation has been run, the data and performance indicators generated are exported for further evaluations. We adjust the output format and how the evaluation is displayed individually to your question.

Integration of 3D factory layouts

To visualize and optimize material flows it is also possible to use 3D factory layouts. Existing 3D models of machines, logistical resources and other manufacturing supports can be integrated and optimally positioned in a 3D hall model.

Dynamic simulation of value streams

Dynamic observation of value streams

In the IMValidation module you can observe value streams you created in the IMDesigner module dynamically (over time). The necessary simulation models can be compiled very easily from the existing data using drag&drop. In-depth expert knowledge is not necessary.

New performance indicators through dynamic observation

Through the dynamic observation of your value streams over time, you receive new, meaningful performance indicators: production flow, storage periods, stocks, capacities and capacity utilization. This allows you to check the plausibility of a value stream design.

Evaluation and analysis of the value streams

You can compare and evaluate the new performance indicators gained from dynamic observation of one or multiple value streams in the IMAnalyzer module. This allows you, for instance, to evaluate different planning variants or find out what action would be the most beneficial.
