Mixed Reality App
iMiRA

See your virtual 3D data in real space.

The Mixed Reality App supports you in large-scale constructions especially: ships, planes, railway carriages, buses. On a mobile touch-screen device, your virtual 3D data is displayed in relation to the actual space you are in. Very useful for assembly and maintenance.

Steering your view of the 3D data by gestures

With the iFAKT Mixed Reality App (iMiRA) you can steer your 3D data (e.g. CAD, standard 3D viewers) intuitively and without a mouse or other supports. You simply use your posture and gestures to navigate through the view.

3D data in relation to the actual space you’re in

If you have a real reference for your 3D data – e.g. a fuselage, ship, part of a carriage – the Mixed Reality App shows your 3D data in relation to the real-life space. Sensors recognize your posture and the direction of your gaze. You can point to the ceiling with your arm, for instance, and on your touch-screen device you see the ceiling on the 3D model.

Robust, quick and accurate display

Your position and posture in the space you are in are detected by one or multiple special sensors. You steer your view of the data through your position and gestures. This works without the need for any special markings in the room or on the viewer. The sensors are very inexpensive.

Regardless of the viewer format

With the Mixed Reality App you can display 3D data from any programme (e.g. CATIA, Siemens NX, SolidWorks, Autocad,…). But you can also display texts or pictures.

See where which part has to go

You’re in an empty fuselage / ship / carriage … and point to a particular spot. The Mixed Reality App shows you where to put, test or replace which parts. The necessary work steps can be displayed in text form. Correct insertion of the parts can therefore also be verified very simply.

Support for island manufacturing

If, for instance, an engine is manufactured on an assembly island, then the Mixed Reality App can give the assembler information for the next work steps based on his or her position.

A vast range of possible uses

As the Mixed Reality App does not require any complicated technology, it can be used quickly and flexibly. Other ideas for possible use: displaying the course of cables and pipes in a house, supporting maintenance work of all kinds, displaying the course of pipes, gas pipes and electrical lines in road construction, showing sections of a construction plan at the right location – we’re sure you will come up with many other possible uses yourself!
